Scouting Essentials

The Leadership component of Scout Training, is not sectional specific, providing an opportunity to network with leaders of other sections which is useful later on down the track (in particular when you want things). Leaders at Scouting essentials (a uniformed two day course) are provided with the grey training scarf, used for all training events. This course provides an introduction to scouting as a movement, the organisation of Scouts In Australia, and an introduction to all the sections. This is the prerequisite to all further training, however, once Leadership has been done for a particular section, it does not need to be done again, if changing sections. So if you complete Leadership 3 as part of Rover Training and want to become a Cub Leader down the track, you don’t need to complete the training again.
