Training InformationBelow you will find information on the Rover Training Scheme for 2008. If you require more information please contact the Vice Chairman, Membership and Training at vicechairman(at)warovers.com.au If you are unsure about how to fill out your Training Form, you can download the 'How To Fill Out a T1' from here. Scouting EssentialsThe Leadership component of Scout Training, is not sectional specific, providing an opportunity to network with leaders of other sections which is useful later on down the track (in particular when you want things). Leaders at Scouting essentials (a uniformed two day course) are provided with the grey training scarf, used for all training events. This course provides an introduction to scouting as a movement, the organisation of Scouts In Australia, and an introduction to all the sections. This is the prerequisite to all further training, however, once Leadership has been done for a particular section, it does not need to be done again, if changing sections. So if you complete Leadership 3 as part of Rover Training and want to become a Cub Leader down the track, you don’t need to complete the training again. Cost: Nil
Rover SkillsPreviously thought as ‘Crew Leader Training’, this course provides beneficial leadership and event management skills. It provides a basis for not only running a crew and organising quality activities, but, hones skills and techniques used in everyday life. While providing an opportunity to network with rovers from different crews or friendship circles, the people on different training courses, form a certain friendship, share private jokes, and retain certain bond. Having a completed Rover Skills Course and Senior First Aid Certificate will get you a Certificate III in Business (Frontline Management) and a Certificate III in Leadership. Handy extras for your resume and no extra effort or cost.
