Unearth Perth Goes Off... Underwater!

By: Bogan

A run down of all the fun and excitement of Unearth Perth

After months of planning and preparation the time came for 2500 WA Joeys, Cubs, Scouts, Venturers & Rovers to make there way to The Esplanade on the centre of the Perth CBD for Unearth Perth.

Saturday morning is when it all began with all the teams heading out to attend on of the 100 bases spead around the Perth Metro Area.

At about 10.30am a storm front came through the site completely demolishing about 100 tents. After 2.5 hours of constant rain the site was under about 1.5 feet of water in some places.

Unfortunately, the hard call was made to evacuate the site. Upon returning to the site, participants were told the bad news and directed to our alternate site, a school down the road.

After another fun and exciting day of activities everyone headed back to the school for an awesome night of entertainment.

Monday morning saw the Chief Commissioner, John Ravenhall and National Commissioner for Youth Program, Julie Creed in attendance. After 2 days of competition finally a Cub team were finally announced the winners with Stirling Lakes RC the highest ranked rover team in 3rd place.

Congratulations to all involved in the running of the event and all who attended!
