Rottnest Island
WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT?
In exchange for a day of service, the Rottnest Island Authority, gives WA Rovers free transport to and form the island for the weekend. We will be tenting in the Allison Camping Area, and the rest of the weekend is whatever you make it- swimming, bike riding, relaxing, partying, ect… WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO ROTTNEST? We provide the ferry transport, the service and the campsite, so all you need to bring is everything else! Sleeping gear, tents, food, clothes and money are a must. The campsite includes gas barbeques and fresh water facilities. We will have almost unlimited camping space, but try not to take your entire tent collection- it all has to go on the ferry. There are stores and food outlets on the island, but bringing your own consumables will be considerably cheaper. Tree planting is on the agenda this year- so bring your favourite pair of gardening gloves and a set of sturdy footwear. COST?
To cover the camping fees and minor overheads with the ferry company, the set cost for the weekend is $24.00 per person. Considering that a day ticket to Rottnest is about $70.00 per person- it’s a bargain.
